If damaged, the fitness equipment should be kept out of use until defective parts are repaired or replaced. Special attention should be given to parts subject to wear as shown in the following maintenance schedules.
The following tips will also help to minimise down time and prolong the life span of the equipment.
- Place equipment in cool dry place away from swimming pools or in areas of high humidity.
- Clean all surfaces regularly with a soft clean cloth using a mild detergent and not ammonia or acid based cleaners.
- Vacuum all dust regularly from equipment, and its surrounding including underneath – a build-up of dust is the main cause for breakdowns.
- Treadmills should run on their own dedicated 10-amp circuit. There should be no other large appliances using the same circuit.
